Registries. Check!

So I convinced Chris that it would be a fantastic idea to go ahead and do our registries on Friday...I only had to ask him once. Shocker. I usually have to beg and plead for him to do anything Wedding Related that he doesn't view as "fun" but rather "work".

We started out at Target, even though I felt like I was going in playing "Russian Roulette" from all the nightmare articles and comments I was reading about Target's terrible registry and return policy! We did not have a good experience at Target, which is really sad, because I love shopping there! We couldn't find more than 6 things to put on our registry...literally, we walked out with 6 items!

Our next stop...Bed, Bath & Beyond. After spending a looooong but extensive 3 hours there I felt amazing leaving. Sadly though, I have family in a town where the closest BB&B is 2 hours away and with a lot of older family who are PC & Web illiterate, I still had to find another solution. However, I really wish that this could be the only registry that I have...I am in love with EVERYTHING we put on here!

The next day I went to Macy's and set up a registry - but they didn't have near the items for me to put on there. I left with only 40 items and most were doubles from BB&B. However the bridal consultants were amazing and really great to work with. They were very nice and answered all my questions.

After doing these 3 locations with Chris, I am officially burnt out on all things registry! I don't see how these brides can check it every week!! Haha, good luck friends and family - I'm not sure I will ever look at them again! :) Just kidding!

Florida in 48 hours!

Well we are leaving for Florida in less than 48 hours and I feel that I have SO MUCH to do before our flight pulls out of the airport! I have to work both today and tomorrow so I wont get a whole lot of time to things accomplished either!

However, On Monday I am getting my engagement pics taken and I couldn't be more excited! These will be the first ever professional pictures Chris and I have ever gotten taken together! <3 I can't wait to line my walls with them! I think we have some really great ideas - we have 4 outfit changes and 2 locations, a Paint the Dress style set and the ocean! :) I simply cannot wait. Once I get those photos I'll make sure to share!

Tuesday we are meeting our wedding planner, Britney @ Charmed Weddings (Tampa, FL) for the first time in person! We're also checking out our possible after party & hotel accommodations for our guests, Taste testing our Menu & Cake flavors, as well as meeting our photog for the wedding. It's going to be one BUSY day!

Wednesday I think I am going to treat Chris and myself to a nice relaxing day at the spa, as well as a nice relaxing couples massage on the beach. We both have been so stressed out the past couple of weeks for different reasons and I really want some time to reflect and just enjoy each other!

I can't wait to be on the beach. Toes in the sand. Breeze from the gulf. Lots of vacation sex. <--- had to throw that one in! I didn't get a brazilian for nothing!! :)

Will update when we get back!

Ceremony & Reception Location

So Chris & I decided to have a destination wedding shortly after getting engaged! We wanted to be able to give those who came an experience, a vacation and a memory. We originally wanted to do Jamaica but after careful thought about who would & wouldn't come we made the decision to have it in Naples, Florida.

I wanted my grandfather to walk me down the aisle as he has always been the stable male role model in my life. I look up to him as he is such a hard working, strong individual and I couldn't imagine him not being there on my big day. My grandfather is like a lot of older people, if he can't drive there he won't go. So he is the reason behind us having our nuptials within the US.

After working with our wedding planner for a good 3 weeks we finalized our wedding ceremony & luncheon reception location! I seriously could not be any happier - the place is nothing short of gorgeous!

Our venue will officially be: The Marriott Marco Island - we are having a barefoot/beach ceremony followed by an outdoor luncheon reception ending at 3:00pm. {We are in the process of finalizing plans for an after party}

Engagement Photo Ideas!

So with our engagement photo shoot just right around the corner, the Future Hubby and I have been searching the depths of the Internet realm looking for unique, fun & artistic ideas. I am not the "Pose & look pretty" kind of girl, I like when photographers capture the individual moment, the look in the eye, the cute little grin, the action you could say. We have finalized our props & locations and I am stupid excited to see how they come out!

The first shoot will be your usual urban/artsy look, we are going for a more simplistic, but edgy wardrobe surrounded by abandoned buildings, graffiti walls and train tracks. Anything grungy & dingy works perfect for the vision that I have! We are going to be rocking dark denim jeans (me in Capri's), plain white Tshirts, I will have a really great necklace and some AWESOME Shoes (see below). I wanted an outfit that was a little more edgy yet simple so we could really appreciate the surroundings in the photos! :)

Our Second idea is to play football on the beach - FH & I are both HUGE Football fans and we have this ongoing rival in our house on who's team is better mine (Indianapolis) or his (Chicago) and you could say we definitely have a house divided sort of feel. I got this great idea to get personalized jerseys made for us just for this purpose. So we now have my future last name on the back with {03} & {17} as the numbers (Wedding is March 17th). I really wanted to get some "in action" shots of us throwing the ball, tackling each other & just have a great time!

Our Third idea was to get dressed in solid white & khaki and have a "Paint the dress" sort of feel. I bought a solid white beach dress & Chris will have a solid white shirt & khaki shorts. We are going to purchase some Neon colored paint & Just have a grand time being us! I really want to capture the raw relationship that we have...competitive, fun & seriously a good time! We are always looking for ways to get each other whether it be water bottle fight, toothpaste, or in this case, paint. I think these are going to come out nothing less than AWESOME!

After we get done with the Paint portion then I want to get some shots of us in the ocean {in our painted clothing}. Catch a few pictures of us rolling around in the water, these are going to be more romantic & sensual. I really want photo's that I can put on the wall as art...I don't want your typical cookie cutter Engagement Photos. That's just not who I am! I am always looking for ways to stand out & be original...these photo's will be no different!

Our big photo shoot is scheduled for June 6th so once I get some proofs back I'll make sure to post them for you to see! :)

Mean Mommy

On a typical day I am usually the mom that you see giving their child just about anything they wanted in order to keep peace in the house and in life. I grew up an only child so that of which has been my curse, I don't know any different. Bug is an only child for the time being (Big Daddy & I plan on having more children in the future, just not now) so you can tell he has the same ideals about life that I did at his age.

One Example, I had to work on Saturday so a close friend of mine came over & watched Bug for me, was only for about a 2 hour time span, but I called her on my way home to check in on them. She informed me that I had a drama queen temper tantrum in full progress because she wouldn't take Bug to buy a new toy or to Burger King to get lunch. His other sitters (My mother & Grandmother) are the worst about every time he is with them they buy him more toys and it has instilled this expectation into his mindset. I ain't gonna have that shiz!!

Another Example, Last night Big Daddy & I asked Bug to clean his room before going to bed - after being home in the house all day due to the weather it was a complete disaster! In full Bug mode he went upstairs, stomping every stair - huffing & puffing. Once he reached his room he began to talk smack: "Why do I always have to clean MY room", "I can't do this on my own, there's too much to do", "This is sooo stupid". Then he proceeds to throw toys in the hallway & this is where I snapped. I am usually the laid back Momma, will give in and go help him clean his room, but not tonight. I turned into a Mean Mom.

I ran up those stairs, grabbed Bug and moved him to the hallway, asked him to go get me 2 trash bags that I was going to clean his bedroom. I used to tell him stories of how when I didn't clean my room, my Mother would lock me out of my room & Clean it for me. Of course she would weed out all the really cool TRASH possessions that I just couldn't live with out. She would rearrange all of my toys into my closet so it looked like my toys were gone. Well, I did exactly what she did  to me to Bug. Of course I felt horrible the ENTIRE time, Big Daddy even came to help me clean up. 20 mins and hearing Jay cry the whole time we took out 2 Trash bags of stuff. I had officially become my Mother. What the FRICK??

However, I think Bug did learn a valuable lesson & Just for reference, I did not throw away his toys, I organized them in his closet and shut the door. After I was done Big Daddy & I sat him down to discuss what happened, what will be done differently next time, and what we learned from this. I feel confident that when we ask Bug to clean his room there will no longer be any smack talk or crocodile tears.

Would you say I'm a MEAN MOMMY? I got called that ALOT last night from Bug!
